Program Description
1. Program Introduction
Editor Notes: Students will master the preliminary knowledge and application of the Chinese language both verbally and in writing.
- The course focuses on the Chinese pinyin and the handwriting of Chinese characters.
- As the standard Chinese phonetic system, Pinyin will run through the whole learning course.
- At the end of the semester, students will be able to make some simple dialogues according to the topics given by the teacher so as to facilitate their future life in China.
- Master the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Cultivate and Raise students’ Chinese standard in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- Foster students' ability to study the Chinese language independently in the future.
- Promote students’ interest in learning the Chinese language.
- The course also includes a great deal information of Chinese people’s daily life, the society and the Chinese culture.
2. Program Structure
2.1 Group Levels
Editor Notes: International students would be divided into 4 kinds of groups according to their Chinese proficiency.
- Group A is intended for beginners.
- Group B is intended for students who have studied Chinese for 250-300 class hours and have mastered 800 commonly used words and basic grammar patterns.
- Group C is intended for students who have studied Chinese for 600-700 class hours and have mastered 1500 commonly used words and basic grammar patterns.
- Group D is intended for students who have studied Chinese for 800-900 class hours and have mastered 2500 commonly used words and basic grammar patterns.
2.2 Relevant Courses
Editor Notes: CICE provides international students with Comprehensive Chinese course, Listening course, writing course, reading course as well as Chinese culture course.
- Comprehensive Chinese course, 8 class hours per week.
- Chinese Character course, 2 class hours per week.
- Listening and Speaking course, 10 class hours per week.
- Those international students who reach HSK level 4 could choose a major they are interested to pursue the Bachelor Degree in Qiongzhou University.
3. School Introduction
